Health insurance is compulsory for international students in Canada. The following Canadian provinces cover international students under their normal public healthcare plans:
However, if you’re studying in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island or Quebec, you’ll need to purchase specific international student health insurance, the cost of which is normally between CAD $600 and CAD $1,000 per year (USD $460-765).
